What is CCC Alopecia?
Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCC Alopecia) is a form of scarring hair loss that
most often begins at the crown (top center) of the scalp and gradually spreads outward. It
occurs most commonly in women of African ancestry but can aƯect anyone.
Unlike common hereditary hair loss, CCC alopecia is an inflammatory condition that can
permanently damage hair follicles if it is not diagnosed and treated early.
