Hair loss is one of the most emotionally challenging conditions many people face. For men, women, and even children, hair loss can affect confidence, self-image, social interactions, and quality of life. While many people think of hair loss as simply a cosmetic issue, those suffering from alopecia know it can be much more than that.
At Regen Therapeutics, we have treated many dozens of alopecia patients ranging from young children to senior adults. Our experience continues to reinforce the value of a comprehensive regenerative approach that addresses multiple causes of hair loss simultaneously rather than relying on a single treatment.
What Is Alopecia?
Alopecia is the medical term for hair loss. It can affect the scalp, eyebrows, eyelashes, beard area, and other parts of the body.

Common forms include:
• Alopecia areata
• Androgenetic alopecia (male and female pattern hair loss)
• Traction alopecia
• Telogen effluvium
• Scarring alopecias

One of the most frustrating forms is alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy hair follicles.
Why Is Alopecia So Difficult To Treat?
Healthy hair growth depends upon a complex interaction between genetics, hormones, blood flow, nutrition, immune function, inflammation levels, and cellular signaling.
Many traditional therapies focus on only one factor. This is one reason many patients experience limited or temporary success.
Steroid injections may help some individuals temporarily. However, many patients find that regrowth is incomplete, inconsistent, or temporary. Hair loss frequently returns when treatment is discontinued.
Why A Multi-Phase Approach Makes Sense
In our experience, the best outcomes occur when multiple factors are addressed at the same time.

The protocol may include:
• Amniotic mesenchymal stem cell treatments
• Topical minoxidil
• Natural DHT blockers

Why We Are Excited About Amniotic Mesenchymal Stem Cells
The cornerstone of our regenerative program is amniotic mesenchymal stem cell therapy.
These cells are derived from healthy, voluntarily donated Cesarean birth tissue and contain growth factors, cytokines, extracellular vesicles, exosomes, and regenerative signaling molecules.
Unlike older adult stem cell sources, amniotic mesenchymal stem cells are among the youngest and most biologically active regenerative cells available.
The goal is not simply to grow hair. The goal is to create a healthier environment around weakened follicles.
Can Hair Grow Even When Follicles Are Difficult To See?
Many patients are surprised when we explain that a lack of visible hair does not always mean the follicle has been permanently destroyed.
Some follicles become dormant or highly miniaturized. Under microscopic examination they may be difficult to identify. Clinical experience has shown that some of these dormant follicles may still possess regenerative potential.
This is one reason we do not automatically disqualify patients simply because visible hair shafts are not observed.
The Importance of Exosomes
Exosomes are microscopic signaling particles naturally produced by cells. They contain growth factors, proteins, RNA, and cellular communication molecules.
These signaling compounds help coordinate repair and regeneration processes and are believed to play an important role in creating an environment that supports healthier hair growth.
The Role of DHT Blockers
In androgenetic alopecia, DHT gradually miniaturizes susceptible follicles.
Natural DHT blockers may help reduce this ongoing process and preserve existing hair while regenerative therapies work to strengthen weakened follicles.
Nutrition Matters
Many alopecia patients are deficient in nutrients necessary for healthy hair growth.

Vitamin D helps support normal immune function.
Zinc plays a role in hair follicle health.
Omega-3 fatty acids help support healthy inflammatory balance.

Red Light Therapy
Low-level red light therapy has been studied for its ability to support cellular metabolism, circulation, and follicular activity.
Patients are commonly advised to use red light therapy approximately 30 minutes three times weekly.
What We Have Seen In Clinical Practice
We continue to be encouraged by the results we have observed in many dozens of patients, including men, women, children, and seniors.
While individual outcomes vary and no treatment can guarantee success for every patient, our experience suggests that combining regenerative medicine with nutritional support, DHT management, topical therapies, and red light therapy may offer advantages over single-treatment approaches.
Patience Is Essential
Hair growth is slow. Most alopecia patients require several months before visible improvement becomes apparent.
Many patients continue seeing progress for 12 to 15 months after beginning treatment.
Conclusion
Alopecia remains one of the most challenging forms of hair loss. However, advances in regenerative medicine have created exciting new possibilities.
